Before you arrive

Filling in your new patient forms ahead of time is the easiest way to shorten your visit. You can complete them from our patient forms page, and bring your insurance card and a photo ID with you. If you have had X-rays taken elsewhere in the last year, ask that office to send them over so we do not repeat anything we do not need to.

The examination

Your first appointment starts with a conversation. Dr. Leila Khamsei, DDS will ask what has been bothering you, what you would like to change about your smile, and how you feel about dental treatment in general. We then take digital X-rays and carry out a full examination of your teeth, gums, bite and the soft tissues of your mouth, including an oral cancer screening.

Your cleaning

Most new patients have a cleaning at the same visit. We remove plaque and tartar above and below the gum line, polish the teeth, and show you anything in your home routine worth adjusting. If your gums show signs of periodontal disease, we will explain what we found and talk through deeper cleaning options rather than proceeding without your agreement.

Your treatment plan

At the end of the visit you get a clear picture of what we found, what needs attention now, what can wait, and roughly what it will cost. We will also confirm what your insurance is likely to cover and explain the financing options available, including CareCredit.
